Job description

Coordinate EU-funded projects across international teams, including planning, budgets, progress monitoring, compliance and reporting. Work with partners to deliver agreed project objectives.

Company description

Heritage Alliance Ltd., headquartered in Belgium with regional offices across Africa, is a trusted provider of EU–Africa and global collaborations in medico-clinical and global health research.

Who we are

Heritage Alliance Ltd is a specialised health-innovation and data-science company operating at the interface of clinical medicine, digital health, and evidence-driven public policy. Headquartered in Belgium with operational hubs in East and Central Africa, we deliver advanced data-engineering, biostatistics, and clinical-research solutions that support governments, health systems, industry, and global consortia.

Our work is anchored in rigorous scientific methodology, international regulatory compliance, and strong partnership ecosystems that enable end-to-end implementation of complex, multi-country projects.

Our core domains of activity

1. Health Data Sciences & Advanced Analytics

Heritage Alliance Ltd has become a regional leader in harmonisation of heterogeneous health datasets into the OMOP Common Data Model (OMOP CDM), enabling large-scale, standardised, and privacy-preserving analytics across hospitals and national databases.

Our expertise includes:

  • Design and deployment of interoperable health data infrastructures at hospital and national level.
  • Full data lifecycle management, from extraction and curation to transformation, harmonisation, and quality validation.
  • Implementation of federated data networks, supporting distributed analytics, secure data governance, and cross-institutional research collaborations.
  • Development of AI-driven risk prediction models, early-warning systems, and clinical-decision support tools.
  • Application of synthetic data, privacy-enhancing technologies, and reproducible pipelines to accelerate model development while preserving data confidentiality.

We have contributed to landmark initiatives such as the LAISDAR project, where 15 hospitals’ COVID-19 data in Rwanda were standardised into OMOP CDM and analysed using AI to support real-time policy and epidemic intelligence.

2. Complex Clinical Research, including Clinical Trials and Implementation Science

We lead and support complex, multi-site clinical research programmes, particularly in low-resource and digital-health-enabled environments. Our capabilities span:

  • Clinical study design: observational, interventional and pragmatic trials.
  • Operationalisation in real-world clinical settings, including ethical submissions, site readiness, monitoring, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) compliance.
  • Digital integration of study tools, electronic data capture, remote monitoring devices, and mHealth platforms.
  • Biomarker programmes, including Dried Blood Spot (DBS) workflows for inflammatory and metabolic profiling.
  • Hybrid implementation-science approaches that combine community-based interventions, task-shifting, and data-driven evaluation frameworks, including RE-AIM and CFIR.
  • Regulatory and ethics governance across African and EU settings.

Our teams manage the full lifecycle of complex projects—from protocol drafting through site initiation, field execution, monitoring, analytics, and dissemination.

3. Innovation & Digital Health Systems Development

We support Ministries of Health, hospitals, and private sector innovators by co-building:

  • AI-ready digital health architectures, integrated with national health management information systems (HMIS), such as DHIS2.
  • Remote-monitoring and community-based care models, including Internet of Things (IoT) medical devices and real-time dashboards.
  • Capacity-building programmes in data science, epidemiological modelling, AI literacy for clinicians, and health informatics governance.
  • Strategic advisory services for EU research consortia, Horizon Europe proposals, and global-health innovation pipelines.
